Waste materials are generated regularly while providing oral healthcare in dentist offices worldwide. Most of this trash is nonhazardous and may be handled the same way as residential rubbish. However, some dental materials can be hazardous to persons or the surroundings if dumped in dumps or spilled down drains. These forms of garbage are controlled and must be handled individually. Dental care often generates two categories of regulated trash: medical waste, dental waste, and hazardous chemical waste. These two categories of garbage require distinct methods for categorization, preservation, disposal, and documentation.
